There
are so many breeds, we have provided basic information about the
breeds regarding our cats for adoption.
A
few decades ago, there were just a handful of recognized breeds.
Today, there are dozens. New mutations have been adopted by some
registries, new breeds have been created from existing breeds through
the introduction of new colors and coat lengths, and breeds from
one country have been recognized in others. |
This
part is going to help you to understand your cat, his morphology,
behavior and senses !
The
cat is an almost perfectly designed predator. Its superb balance
and flexibility enable it to catch small prey and escape from larger
predators. Its brain, nerves, and hormones harmonize to avoid wasting
energy, while still being capable of explosions of activity. The
domestic cat's anatomy is almost identical to that of its close
wild relations. In the past, the cat was a solitary hunter, content
to live on its own in the absence of other cats or people. It is
now in the process of evolving from total independence to a more
willing dependence. Its natural behavior toward other cats and human
show this evolutionary change. |
