Welcome to Happy Cats Foundation. This adventure began, I must admit with much fear on my part. With an empty pocketbook, a ton of faith, prayers, courage and an incredible team of people behind me, Happy Cats Foundation became a reality. I, along with two dear friends put our heads, hearts and efforts forth and on January 7, 2004 Happy Cats Foundation became a Tax Deductible Non-Profit Organization.

We are all volunteers with an immense passion for cats. Our mission, beyond finding safe and loving homes for abused, abandoned and relinquished cats, is with our Senior Citizens (65 and older)*. As we grow in funds, we hope to place a kitty in homes with our Orange County seniors who love cats but are living on tight budgets. Many of our seniors are living on fixed incomes; as a result adopting a kitty is only a dream. What a beautiful feeling to place a cat (complimentary, no donation fee expected) in a loving home knowing our senior and our kitty have so much love to give to each other. Together they get to share such a sense of commitment and being needed.

* It is a requirement that an adoption application be completed and reviewed. A vet check and home safety check is required. Their is a screening process which one must go through along with a call to any and all apartment managers. We reserve the right to decline any applicant. Our main goal is to put an adult cat with a senior who will give a Happy Cat a safe and loving home.

I was with Animal Assistance League for six years prior, operating out of the Irvine PetSmart Store. With their blessing, the wonderful support from the Irvine PetSmart Management, Associates, and the Community of Irvine along with the surrounding areas we have just passed our 2-year Birthday. We are growing slowly, still taking baby steps and working hard towards our mission and goals.

With your continued support we can rest easily and have sweet dreams knowing together we have saved the lives of many homeless and abused cats and kittens and beyond this put a smile on a senior's face and warmed their heart. What wonderful rewards come in knowing we have changed lives!

We are also associated with three wonderful animal hospitals that work with us to make sure the cats and kittens are healthy; many thanks to 17th St. Hospital for fecals, tests, spay/neutering,shots and every kitty need. Stonecreek for mostly shots,
Alton-Main for spay/neutering, testing and shots. I use these three hospitals because they stand behind my Happy Cats kitties and really help me financially. I am most grateful.

They truly are there for me. :)

As our funding grows we will begin implementing additional projects. Right now, we need assistance with:

  • Fundraising campaigns/events
  • Donations from large corporations
  • Foster families
  • Volunteers interested in doing home safety checks
  • Volunteers to assist with adoptions Saturday and Sunday
  • Volunteers to assist in keeping the cat area clean and Cat sitters, (18 and over), to watch the cats while the cat area is being cleaned

We have posted a wish list on this web site listing the items we currently need. If you can help us in any way we will be very grateful. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out an application and let us know what special talents you can bring to the team.

So come aboard, join with us in getting these special cats and kittens into safe and loving homes!

Thank you for your love and support. It has been an incredible year for all of us!

With much gratitude, God bless!!
